This is a 15-session Literary Leaf for RHS's The Magic and Mystery of Trees by Jen Green which covers all aspects of the Key Stage 1 content domains.  Children have the opportunity first to 'say what they see’ before moving on to developing retrieval skills as a precursor to inferring. There are multiple opportunities for the children to develop their scientific vocabulary and also to begin to make comparisons. The leaf includes key questions and activities to support comprehension.

Synopsis:

Discover how trees communicate and warn each other of predators, how they nurture their networks, record the past, and anticipate the future to ensure their survival. There's so much more to trees than meets the eye.

Delve into the amazing natural science of trees in this nature and science children's book.
