3.45pm - 5pm

Join us for a practical and collaborative online session led by a lead moderator designed to strengthen your confidence in assessing Year 6 writing against the Teacher Assessment Framework (TAF). This is a supportive space to deepen your understanding, align expectations and leave feeling more secure in your assessment decisions. Ideal for anyone new to teaching in Year 6 or for those who do not get much opportunity to standardise with others.

During the session, we will –

  • Give clear guidance on interpreting the TAF statements, common misconceptions and effective evidence-gathering.
  • Explore one or two of your children’s growing writing collections with colleagues in breakout rooms, discussing judgements, sharing insights and standardising together.

This session offers a supportive space to deepen your understanding, align expectations and leave feeling more secure in your assessment decisions, and is ideal for anyone new to teaching in Year 6 or for those who do not get much opportunity to standardise with others.

To get the most out of this session –

Please take some pictures beforehand of a few pieces of writing from one or two of your children that you would like to discuss and have them on your computer so you can drop into a chat box with others in a Zoom breakout room. This could, for example, be a child on the cusp of the expected standard.
