A half-day year-specific course, led by Pippa and Jess, covering Literacy Tree’s Early Years specific pedagogy. Discuss how starting with a story leads to opportunities for talk, exploration, song and play. All bound up in an approach with diverse and inclusive texts at the forefront.
This course will –
- Identify how the Literacy Tree pedagogy engages children as creators and communicators with a reason to write and immerses them in a literary world
- Share examples of quality texts and well-planned sequences
- Explore skills as outlined in the Early years foundation stage statutory framework
- Model how language, talk and immersion in high quality literature leads to further opportunities for physical development and personal, social and emotional development
- Provide a brief introduction to our brand-new resource specifically for Early Years – Story Saplings based on Super Milly and the Super School Day by Stephanie Clarkson
