Children’s literature is at the core of our consultancy. We support schools to adapt current provision to make it more book-based or to introduce and adopt Literacy Tree. We work directly with schools, Learning Trusts and English Hubs as well as academy chains and Local Authorities.
Consultancy sessions can take place either in-person or remotely.
'The impact Literacy Tree are having on both Reading and Writing at my school is terrific. They have given us ongoing, genuinely bespoke support, advice, training and curriculum design: this is consultancy at its very best...'
David Tomlinson, Headteacher, Barrow Hill Junior School, Westminster
'We have thoroughly enjoyed working with Literacy Tree. Their personalised approach, catering for the needs of the school, allowed us to effectively gain a deeper understanding of teaching reading. Staff were able to observe modelled reading sessions which was insightful, purposeful and most importantly, engaging! We hope to work with Literacy Tree again as this was a very positive experience for all.'
Claire Meares, English Coordinator, St George's International School, Luxembourg
Our team of Literacy consultants establish relationships with schools to provide ongoing support with all aspects of managing and delivering Literacy Tree as well as support with assessment and moderation. This can be provided as a block of support, spread over time or as part of a project. We work directly with teachers, subject leaders, deputy headteachers and headteachers and this can take many forms, such as:
'I just wanted to say thank you for all the help with Reading last year. We continued and built upon all the things you taught us last year and we did it! I know that it takes hard work from the teachers but if it hadn’t been for Literacy Tree and your support- we wouldn’t be celebrating these results. Thank you!'
Claire Gillespie, Deputy Head, St Francis, Peckham
Our 'Teach Through a Text' training has been rolled out to 16 schools in Portishead near Bristol as part of their English Hub CPD offer. We are continuing to work across the Astrea Academy Trust in Yorkshire and the Wade Deacon Trust in Knowsley. We also continue to run Literacy Network meetings for subject leaders at Warren Road Training Academy for Bromley Schools and Southwark Local Authority, where we also run KS1 and KS2 Writing moderation.
'I just wanted to email to thank you again for the fantastic staff training you ran for all our primary teachers and principals. It was amazing to see 60 plus people working collaboratively and enjoying what Literacy Tree can bring to each of their schools. training was exactly what we wanted and staff went away feeling inspired and excited'
Juliet Brown, Lead Principal, Wade Deacon Trust
