Work with us...

Literacy Tree has grown from a start-up in 2012 to become a leading educational consultancy and ed-tech company specialising in creating a platform for teachers that bring children’s literature to life in the classroom. By working directly with primary schools to provide consultancy and training, we are able to provide high-quality resources based on what we know works in the classroom.

We are passionate about what we do and everything we produce is written in-house and is uncompromising on quality. From the books we carefully select, to the depth of detail in the resources and the technology that supports the platform, we spend time trying to get it right for teachers to save them time in the classroom. In 2022 we won two major industry awards.

Based in Clerkenwell, London, we have an extremely committed consultancy team who work in schools around the UK and sometimes further afield in international settings. We also provide online support and our small office-based team are committed and ambitious to deliver the best ed-tech platform and customer service. We are focussed on building a talented team of people who can contribute to the brand’s ongoing success story.

Who you are…

We are looking for enthusiastic teachers to join our Advisory Panels.  You are a practitioner who has used Literacy Tree and has a passion for children's literature.

What you’ll be doing…

  • You will sit on one of three panels that meet yearly to ensure our chosen texts meet standards of inclusivity and authenticity in terms of representation of cultures and communities. Our advisory panels are used to provide advice and guidance in a non-executive function and are a non-decision making forum. The three panels are as follows:

    • Race & Cultures Representation Advisory Panel
    • LGBTQ+ Representation Panel
    • Disabilities & SEND Representation Advisory Panel
    • Small Schools and School with Mixed-age Classes
  • You'll be contactable at other ad hoc points throughout the year to offer perspectives about new texts we are considering adding to the curriculum.
  • You'll recommend books from time to time to the panel.

You’ll need to…

  • Have experience of teaching using Literacy Tree.
  • Ideally be part of a school that uses Literacy Tree as a whole-school approach.
  • Be an avid reader of children's literature.
  • Be from or have experience of the varying communities our books represent.
