At this time of year we are thinking about transition from year 6 to year 7 and what better text to use for this than A Beautiful Lie by Irfan Master? Now, as this is a fairly meaty text with an intricate plot and some sophisticated themes, we know that delivering the planning sequence for this can take longer than our suggested 3 weeks. So with this is mind, we have written an additional resource to support the use of this glorious text for the teaching of reading and writing. It sets out in detail how to pair together the existing planning sequence sessions with reading sessions so that each day you will use a literacy time-slot (could be at two different times during the day) securing complete curriculum coverage whilst still managing the reading of the text.
